The John F. Barry '40 Spirit of Saint Anselm College Award is presented to David St. Pierre, Chief of Police for the Lewiston Police Department, in recognition of his exemplary dedication, leadership, and service to his community. A 1991 graduate of Saint Anselm College with an associate degree in criminal justice, David has devoted more than 29 years to the Lewiston Police Department, rising through the ranks and making a lasting impact on his community. 

Since his appointment as Chief of Police in 2021, David has overseen the department with integrity and professionalism, leading a team of 82 sworn officers and 13 civilian employees in responding to over 52,000 calls for service in 2023 alone. His steady leadership and swift response during the 2023 mass shooting in Lewiston have earned him widespread respect and commendation, showcasing his unwavering commitment to public safety.

David's career path has been marked by diverse and meaningful roles, including patrol officer, detective, public information officer, and lieutenant. His graduation from the prestigious FBI National Academy in 2018 further exemplifies his dedication to personal and professional growth.
