Book of the Month Program
How it works

The Book of the Month is not a formalized book club. Rather, it is a way for us to share titles of interest from our faculty and staff to you, our alumni, families, and friends.

Each month, there will be a book featured in Anselmian Connections with a brief synopsis, a link for more infromation, and the name of the recommender. If you miss the email, never fear! The same information will be posted on this page.

August's Title - The Girl Who Smiled Beads: A Story of War and What Comes After by Clemantine Wamariya and Elizabeth Weil

The Book of the Month for June is The Girl Who Smiled Beads: A Story of War and What Comes Afterby Clemantine Wamariya and Elizabeth Weil. this moving account chronicles Wamariya's harrowing six-year journey escaping the Rwandan genocide, and reflects on the lasting impact of displacement, resilience, and healing.

Featured as the premier book for the One Community, One Read initative, Clemantine Wamariya will visit campus to share her story in person on September 14th at 11:30 a.m. in the Koonz Theater.
