Graduating just nine years ago, Matt Donahue has made a significant contribution to the fields of innovation management and entrepreneurship. After graduating from Saint Anselm College, Matt went on to earn a Masters Degree at Brown University.

Hard work and perseverance have paid off. Matt began his career at Raytheon before moving to California to join the FBI on the counterterrorism team.

Eventually, Matt left the FBI to create a start-up in venture space. Never afraid of a challenge and not one to shy away from hard work, Matt has positioned his company, KODEX, to be the leading tech company in the world used by law enforcement agencies to quickly, safely, cleanly, and reliably send and share information with other law enforcement agencies around the world.

Until now, managing the ongoing need to receive and respond to this critical information exchange has been a highly complex and disjointed process involving manual modes of communication or utilizing software that wasn’t built for this purpose, leaving the programs highly susceptible to vulnerabilities and risks. KODEX solved this daunting challenge with a secure and robust platform created by a team of public safety and privacy experts.

One of his nominators wrote, “Matt actually received quite a bit of praise due to his company being utilized to shorten the time it took to begin an investigation that ultimately thwarted child sex crimes. Matt has somehow been able to achieve the highest levels of success while also making the world a better and safer place, not many people or companies can say this.”

Given his keen intellect, business acumen, innovative thinking, and humility, Matt has created a 100-million-dollar corporation that continues to grow and evolve.  However, the first thing Matt will tell you about KODEX—what he is most proud of—is its utilization to stop child trafficking and not monetary success.
