It is with great honor that we present Joelle O’Brion of the Class of 2009 with the Catholic Leadership Award, a recognition that exemplifies her unwavering dedication to faith and service within the Church and her Catholic community.

From her time as a student at Saint Anselm College, Joelle has been a true leader in faith. As the first intern for the Office of Campus Ministry, she laid the foundation for her lifelong commitment to the Church, displaying remarkable leadership, empathy, and spiritual wisdom. Her journey continued through her graduate studies at Boston College School of Theology and Ministry, where she served in several key roles, always offering her peers and faculty warmth, guidance, and a deep love for Catholic tradition.

Joelle’s impact expanded as Director of Campus Ministry at the Academy of Notre Dame, where she cultivated the spiritual growth of students through liturgies, service, and theological education. Her work not only enriched the lives of students but also empowered them to live out their faith fully.

Her ministry didn't pause when she became a mother and relocated to Rhode Island. Joelle continued to serve as a leader within her parish, running Religious Education and Confirmation programs while also guiding RCIA classes, becoming a beacon of hope and faith to many young adults. Her genuine enthusiasm for her faith has touched all who know her.

In every role she has undertaken, from nurturing her children to guiding business leaders as a Chapter Administrator for Legatus, Joelle has demonstrated a deep commitment to the mission of the Church and to spreading the joy of the Gospel. Her life is a testimony to what it means to be a servant leader, and her passion for faith is an inspiration to all.

For her tireless devotion, remarkable leadership, and constant joy in serving the Church, we proudly bestow the Catholic Leadership Award upon Joelle O’Brion. She truly embodies the spirit of faith-driven leadership and is a shining light for Catholic communities near and far.
